FAYETTEVILLE, NC – Christopher Newport’s cheerleading squad took home the 2008 USA South Cheerleading Championship, the conference announced Tuesday.
The Captains, under the direction of Head Coach Erica Flanigan, were selected as the 2008 champions. After nearly 10 years without a competition, the USA South recently approved the reinstitution of the championship.
CNU took home the hardware with a total of 288 points and will perform their winning routine during halftime of both the men’s and women’s basketball championships games at Christopher Newport on Saturday, March 1.
