Six Women's Soccer Players Earn All-USA South Honors

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - CNU's women's soccer team placed six players on the USA South all-conference teams announced Wednesday by the conference.

Junior Sam Ciaravino was honored on the first team as a midfielder. She has scored seven goals and added an assist. Richard, a junior, has been a mainstay on defense for three years.

Seniors Dineen Sampson and Emily Chesbro were placed on the second team along with sophomore Kendall Dishaw. Sampson, a goalkeeper, has four shutouts and a 1.17 goals against average. Dishaw was picked at forward and has three goals and two assists, while Chesbro is a midfielder with two goals and three assists.

Named to the third team was sophomore Shelby Walters on defense.

The Captains, now 10-7-3 and seeded second in the USA South tournament, meet third-seeded Greensboro at 2:30 on Friday in Martinsville, Va.
