Women's Soccer Makes USA South Final With 2-0 Win Over Greensboro

MARTINSVILLE, Va. - Christopher Newport's women's soccer team advanced to the championship round of the USA South tournament with a 2-0 win over Greensboro Friday night.
Tiffany Van Decker got CNU on the board in just the fifth minute when she headed in a cross from Sam Ciaravino.
The two then switched roles with Ciaravino heading in a goal on a pass from Van Decker less than 13 minutes into the game.
CNU out-shot Greensboro, 14-6 and goalkeeper Dineen Sampson made four saves in recording the shutout.
The captains, now 11-7-3, will meet Methodist at 2 p.m. Saturday for the conference title and automatic NCAA bid. Those two teams played a scoreless tie on Oct. 10.
