BURLINGTON, NC – Christopher Newport's women's tennis team was eliminated from the USA South Tournament Friday by Peace, 6-3.

In doubles action, Alex Kerin and Alejandra Cobian defeated Kayla Connor and Alannah Suchomel (CNU) 8-1 at No. 1; Lauren Kelly and Megan Brooks (CNU) defeated Kristen Starnes and Lauren Allen 8-3; and Jill Trogdon and Katie Lamb defeated Dana Burns and Mary Ann Feeney (CNU) 8-5.

In singles play, Kerin defeated Connor (CNU) 6-0, 6-1; Cobian defeated Kelly (CNU) 7-5, 6-1 at No. 2; Starnes defeated Suchomel (CNU) 6-4, 6-1; Avent (CNU) defeated Trogdon 6-0, 6-3 at No. 4; Allen defeated Burns (CNU) 8-5 and Feeney (CNU) defeated Lamb 8-0 at No. 6.

The Pacers improve to 10-7 while the Captains conclude the year 7-8.
