NEWPORT NEWS, VA. - Following its undefeated 2008 USA South championship, Christopher Newport is the unanimous choice of the conference coaches to prevail again in 2009.
  The Captains received all seven of the possible votes from the poll of coaches. CNU could not vote for itself.
  North Carolina Wesleyan, the team that finished tied for second place a year ago with Ferrum, was tabbed to finish second, with Ferrum right behind in third in the poll.
  All conference teams begin play on Sept. 5 with non-conference action. CNU opens USA South play on Oct. 3 by hosting Shenandoah.
