NEWPORT NEWS, VA - Several Christopher Newport players gained victories in their collegiate debuts as the Captains competed in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Division III Southeast Regional in Fredericksburg on Sept. 26-27.

Erin Spinks won two matches in the Blue 4 singles draw before falling in a semifinal. Morgan Huff (Blue 1), Kim Morrissett (Blue 3) and Danielle Cribb (Blue 5) each won once in the main draw.

In Blue 6, Stephanie Peed won two matches for the consolation championship. Returnee Kayla Connor (Blue 2) and Kate deLacy (Blue 5) gained a consolation victory apiece, and returnee Dana Burns (Blue 4) also competed.

In doubles, the Huff-Morrissett tandem gained CNU's only victories. Also playing were the duos of Connor-Spinks and deLacy-Peed.
