NEWPORT NEWS, VA – The Christopher Newport University sailing team was host to five teams this past weekend as they held a 2-on-2 clinic with the goal of elevating the skill level and experience of the athletes in the 2-on-2 format.

Schools in attendance were Salisbury, Hampton, Virginia Tech, Maryland and Drexel.

The clinic began with a morning classroom session and ended with two on-the-water sessions, one on Saturday and one on Sunday. While the wind on Saturday was nearly perfect, the wind on Sunday proved to be more difficult, but gave the teams experience in dealing with less-than-ideal wind conditions.

The sailing team travels to ODU next weekend, March 6 and 7, for the ODU Spring Open.
