NEWPORT NEWS, Va.- Tunde Ogun, an All-American running back for the CNU football squad, recently led his team to the championship of the Polish American Football League. Ogun's
Gdynia Seahawks defeated the favored
Wroclaw Panthers, 41-32, in Polish Super Final IX for their second title in three years.
The title game proved to be the
Tunde Ogun show, as the 6"1, 220-pound running back and game MVP powered his way to score four of the Seahawks six touchdowns. The Panthers simply could not stop Ogun, who was a dominant running back for the Christopher Newport football squad from 2007-09.
After starting his collegiate career at Cincinnati, Ogun transferred to CNU for his final three seasons and set school records for rushing yards in a game (265), rushes in a season (267), and rushing yardage in a career (3,425). He also scored more touchdowns (38) than any other CNU player in history.
Ogun graduated from Christopher Newport in May of 2010.
