NEWPORT NEWS, Va.- Christopher Newport will travel to Salisbury, Maryland, for the NCAA Super-Regional against the Sea Gulls of Salisbury University. Action will start at 4:00 p.m. on Friday with the first of the best-of-three series. Saturday, the teams will meet at 1:00 p.m. and then at 3:30 p.m. if necessary.

The Captains, ranked 11th in the nation and riding an eight-game winning streak, are coming off a Regional Championship at Captains Park that saw them win three consecutive games. Keith Parr's squad is now 30-7 on the season after beating Randolph-Macon for the crown on Sunday.

Salisbury, ranked fourth in the nation, is 32-6 after winning its Regional Championship on Saturday over Virginia Wesleyan.

CNU and Salisbury are both members of the Capital Athletic Conference, and the Captains won all three meetings with the Sea Gulls this season. Christopher Newport downed the Gulls in Salisbury twice on April 4th by scores of 7-1 and 13-2 in six innings. The teams met again in the CAC Tournament Championship, with the Captains posting a 7-4 triumph.

Monday the Captains learned that five members of the squad have been selected All-Region. Senior first baseman Sabrina Hill and junior outfielder Meagan Jones were named 2nd-team All-Region, while freshman third baseman Brittney Walters, junior second baseman Tori Clarke, and junior outfielder Scoop Simon were named 3rd-team in the Atlantic Region.
