NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- For the second straight season, Christopher Newport University senior Victoria Perry has earned Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). She is the first women's soccer player in program history to collect the honor multiple times, and becomes just the third CNU athlete since 2002 to be named CoSIDA Academic All-District twice during her career. 

The national organization recognized three CNU soccer players on Thursday afternoon, announcing that Perry and a pair of CNU men's soccer players, Bobby Seifert and Jimmy Grace, were selected to the Academic All-District teams. With the award, CoSIDA recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. The Academic All-District teams include student-athletes from eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. First team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot,w here first-, second-, and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month. 

Last season, Perry was named a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection as well as a third team NSCAA Scholar All-East Region pick. This year, the Psychology major entered the year with a 3.64 cumulative GPA, while also minoring in Leadership Studies. She has earned Academic All-Conference honors in each of her first three seasons as a leader in the classroom, while also leading the Captains' offense throughout her career. 

Perry, the 2014 Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Year, has been a steady presence at the top of the Captains' attack for four seasons. She has climbed the all-time scoring charts at Christopher Newport and is now just one point shy of tying the record set by Emma O'Reilly, with 103 points. Perry is the all-time leader in assists, with 28, and ranks tied for second in career goals, with 37, to pile up 102 career points in 74 games. played. This season, the Purcellville, Va. native has put on another tremendous show for fans, leading one of CNU's all-time best offensive attacks with 25 points on eight goals and a career-best nine assists.  

She has helped the Captains secure their fourth straight Capital Athletic Conference regular season title, winning the top seed in each year of Perry's career. The Captains will be the top seed in next week's CAC Tournament, hosting a semifinal matchup against either #4 Mary Washington or #5 York (Pa.) on Wednesday, November 2.
