Christopher Newport Captures 11th Consecutive Virginia All-Sports Survey

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Christopher Newport has been named the most successful athletic department in the Commonwealth of Virginia for the 11th straight year. The annual college division all-sports survey was released Wednesday by the Virginia Sports Information Directors Association (VaSID).

The 2018-2019 season marks the 15th time since 2000 the Captains have claimed the top honor in the state. CNU teams finished the year with a 73.7 winning percentage, and posted an overall record of 247-87-1. Men's programs recorded an overall mark of 103-40-1 (71.5%) while women's squads were 144-47 (75.4 %).

Christopher Newport captured six conference titles in the Capital Athletic Conference and advanced to the NCAA Division III Championship six times.

Washington & Lee finished second in the survey, followed by Randolph-Macon.
