ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Playing in a field predominantly filled with Division I competition, the Christopher Newport men's tennis team wrapped up a three-day appearance at the Joe Hunt Invitational on Sunday, picking up a pair of doubles wins as a team. 

The tournament featured six different flights with Christopher Newport entering players in each. 

On Sunday, a pair of Christopher Newport tandems earned doubles victories against Division I foes. In the Red Doubles playoffs, Ryan Macy and Scotty Hunter paired up for a 7-5 win over Andrew Rozanov and Charlie Sharton from Georgetown University. Then, in the White Doubles playoffs, James Baron and Andy Mason defeated another Georgetown tandem in Connor Lee and Harry Yang, 6-3. 

Following all the action this weekend, the Captains will now head to Fredericksburg, Va. for the 2019 ITA Southeast Regional Championships next weekend, with matches scheduled from October 4-6.
