SANDESTIN, Fla. -- Christopher Newport sophomore Alex Delgado (+10) fired a two-over 74 on the second day of the 2022 Golfweek Fall Invite to help lead the CNU women's golf team to a 312 finish. The Captains are tied for 10th after 36 holes with a +41 as a team, tied with Trinity and Denison heading into the final round. 

Delgado pieced together an exceptional second round to finish just two-over par on the day. She sank birdie putts on the 136-yard Par 3 third hole and the 471-yard Par 5 fifth hole to get going early. She also had six pars on the front and added seven more on the back for a very clean scorecard at the end of the day. 

With her second-day effort, Delgado shot up to a tie for 40th on the individual leaderboard with a 154 (80-74). Senior Lauren Sims (+8) is two strokes ahead of her, tied for 30th after shooting an 80 on day two. Sims has signed for a 152 (72-80) in the event, while Elena Rezac (+11) has remained consistent with a 155 (77-78). Rezac is tied for 43rd. 

On day two, Rezac fired the second best round of the day for CNU with ten pars and one birdie. She finished strong with six par or better holes in the final seven of the day, including a birdie three on the 345-yard Par 4 eighteenth hole.

Sims and Katie Watson each added 80's in the second round. The veteran had ten pars and one birdie while the rookie notched a team-best three birdies on the round. Watson had an excellent back nine, coming back to the clubhouse with an even 36 on the final nine holes with two birdies and two bogeys. 

Rounding out the CNU performance was D'yan Robinson, just two strokes back of her teammates with an 82. One triple bogey marred an otherwise strong round with nine pars and one birdie.
