Live Results

SALISBURY, Md. --
The Christopher Newport cross country teams will battle for league supremacy on Saturday afternoon when the Captains take part in the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Championships at Winter Place Park in Salisbury, Maryland.

The women will kick off the action with the 6k at 2 p.m. One hour later, the men will head out for the 8k at 3 p.m.

For those fans unable to attend the meet, live results will be available at SUSeaGulls.com. A direct link can be found at the top of this release and on the schedule page.

Christopher Newport will face tough competition at the league meet. On a national level, UC Santa Cruz boasts the country's 22nd-ranked women's team and the 25th-ranked men's team. Meanwhile, the Salisbury men are slotted fifth in the Mid-Atlantic Region, while the women have climbed as high as ninth in the polls.

Along with UC Santa Cruz and Salisbury, Mary Washington, Pratt, and Warren Wilson will also take part in the conference competition.

UC Santa Cruz is the defending league champion after sweeping the team titles last year. Following the Banana Slugs, Christopher Newport finished second in both races in 2021, while Salisbury came in third.

The Captains enter the postseason ranked in the top-five in the South Region. The women are slotted fourth in the area, and the men are fifth. The men also climbed as high as 35th in the USTFCCCA National Rankings earlier this year.

Boasting an accomplished collection of standout veterans, Christopher Newport features four reigning All-Conference honorees. On the men's side, Nick Tolarchyk has finished in the top-16 during each of the past two league meets, while Daniel Ferrante came in 11th last year. Meanwhile, for the women, Madi Rawlings placed 11th in 2021, and Mae Savoie was 13th.

Along with the decorated veterans, Nathanael Ferrante posted the seventh-fastest 8k clocking in school history during the Rowan Border Battle earlier this month, while John Vogel notched the 16th-best mark at the Paul Short Run. Megan Smith, Eliza Dana, Lex McGrail, and Adalyn Perez also rank among the top-40 on the school's all-time 6k list after throwing down historic efforts earlier this year as well.

Following the league meet, Christopher Newport will return home for the NCAA South Regional Championships, which will be held at Lee Hall Mansion on November 12.
