Jahn Hines Receives First Weekly Basketball Honor from Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Christopher Newport University junior Jahn Hines was named the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference Player of he Week on Monday. It's the first men's basketball honor handed out this season by the C2C.

Hines, from Norview High School in Norfolk, averaged 20 points per game last week in CNU's season-opening victories over tenth-ranked Johns Hopkins and Lynchburg. The All-American guard recorded a career-high 29 points on 11-of-19 shooting in Wednesday's 74-61 triumph over Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Md. He added 11 points on Saturday in a 96-64 win over Lynchburg at the Freeman Center.

Hines was a third team NABC All-American and Player of the Year last season in the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference. The 6-3 guard was also selected the MVP of the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference Tournament, and averaged 15.3 points per game and also pulled down 6.9 rebounds per contest as a sophomore.

The Captains travel to Selinsgrove, Pa., this weekend for a two-day tournament at Susquehanna University. CNU will play Friday night to open the tourney vs. Washington and Lee in a 6:00 p.m. start.
