Christopher Newport was selected for an at-large berth into the 2022 NCAA Volleyball Tournament on Monday. The Captains will travel north to Huntingdon, Pennsylvania for a regional hosted by Juniata in the program's 19th tournament appearance.

CNU finished the regular season with a 21-13 record and finished third in the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference standings. The Captains will open their 19th NCAA Tournament on Thursday against SUNY Morrisville. The Mustangs are the champions of the United East Conference after they took down Penn State Berks last weekend. 

The winner of Thursday's match will advance to face the winner of Ithaca and Alfred State on Friday. The regional final will take place Saturday with a trip to Pittsburg on the line.

Christopher Newport is making their 19th tournament appearance in program history and their 18th with Head Coach Lindsay Birch at the helm. Since leading the Captains to their fifth tournament appearance in 2005, the Captains have not missed a tournament and have made 15 straight NCAA tournaments.
