Live Results

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. --
The Christopher Newport track & field teams will return to action on Friday when the Captains open up the 56th Annual Colonial Relays at William & Mary's Zable Stadium and Stimson Throwing Area.

The meet, which annually draws elite competitors from around the country, will feature representatives from 44 colleges this year. For those fans unable to attend the competition, live results will be available at TribeAthletics.com. A direct link can be found at the top of this release and on the schedule page.

Currently, 31 Captains are slated to take part in the meet as 20 men and 11 women are entered in at least one event.

Action gets underway with the men's hammer at 9 a.m. on Friday, while the 5,000 opens track events 30 minutes later. On Saturday, the javelin will kickstart the festivities at 9 a.m., and the 10,000 will be the first track discipline contested at 10:15 a.m.

Among the Captains scheduled for the meet, three currently rank among the top-25 nationally in their respective events. Daniel Ferrante is 24th in the 800, John Vogel is 24th in the 5000, and Alyssa Roach is 16th in the 100-hurdles.

Christopher Newport is coming off of a solid outing at the Blue & Silver Challenge last week. During the meet, the Captains won nine events. Among the victors, Vogel jumped to fourth in program history with his work in the 5000 after clocking in at 14:51.25. Mae Savoie also posted a time of 18:27.83 during the same race on the women's side, and Mazie Clark moved to first in the conference in the shot put with an 11.37-meter toss.

For their work, Vogel, Savoie, and Clark were all named Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Track & Field Athletes of the Week.

Following the Colonial Relays, Christopher Newport will return home for the New Captains Classic beginning on April 8.
