NORMAN, Okla. -- A pair of Christopher Newport men's golfers were named NCAA Division III PING All-Region picks on Tuesday afternoon as juniors Alex Price and Robb Kinder each earned repeat selections for the Captains. Price is just the second three-time All-Region honoree in program history and Kinder picked up his second straight certificate. 

The veteran duo continue to put their stamp on one of the most successful runs in CNU golf history as they helped Christopher Newport qualify for it's second consecutive trip to the NCAA Division III National Championships. It marks only the third back-to-back appearance for the Captains since the mid-90's. 

Continuing on his record-breaking career track, Alex Price joined only Matt DiSalvo as Christopher Newport players to garner All-Region accolades more than twice in his career. DiSalvo collected the honor each year from 2014-16 before Price matched the record with picks in each year since 2020. 

The junior lefty currently holds the program scoring record for a career with a 72.3 average over 43.5 rounds of play. This season, he added to his illustrious career with five top-ten finishes in eight events including a win in the prestigious Jekyll Island Collegiate this Spring. He has recorded 13 rounds at par or better out of a possible 22 and has posted the lowest single-season scoring average in program history at 71.8. 

Robb Kinder follows closely behind on both the single season and career charts with a stellar campaign of his own in 2021-22. After finishing last season as the national runner-up at the NCAA Championships, Kinder stormed through the season with a 73.1 average in 22 rounds of play. He won a playoff against Price at the Glenn Heath Memorial to capture the seond win of his career. 

Kinder has played 42.5 rounds over his three year career and ranks second all-time with a 73.8 average. 

Christopher Newport is currently competing at the 2022 NCAA Division III Men's Golf National Championships at the Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
