2007 - Junior Year - Named the USA South Pitcher of the Year after a fabulous season in which she went 15-1 with a 1.62 ERA... She was also first team all-USA South and first team all-Virginia Division II-III...Had a complete game shutout over Peace and combined for six others...Allowed just one hit over six innings versus Averett and three in six innings in games with Arcadia and Ferrum... Had a high of six strikeouts against Oneonta and Arcadia in consecutive games at the Atlantic vs. East Challenge...Opponents hit just .218 off her.
2006 - Sophomore Year - Led the Lady Captains with a 2.87 ERA and with 134 innings pitched and 89 strikeouts...Named honorable mention pitcher on the all-USA South team...Tossed a one-hit shutout against Chowan among her 11 victories...Also beat Guilford with five innings of two-hit shutout ball and limited Oneonta to three hits and no earned runs in a five inning victory...Posted a season high of seven strikeouts three times, against Peace, Allegheny and Guilford...Also picked up a save in a win over Shenandoah.
2005 - Freshman Year - Became one of the Lady Captains’ starting pitchers in her rookie year...Her first career win was a five-hit shutout of Frostburg St...Also had two four-hit wins against Shenandoah, allowing just one run in each game, a three-hit victory against Methodist and a five-hitter in a game with Southern Virginia... Allowed just one home run in 103 innings and added saves against Eastern Mennonite and Greensboro.
AT STONE BRIDGE - A first team all-Dulles District choice once and second team another year while playing for coach Bruce Feinberg...She was also the team MVP for two seasons...A member of the Key Club and FEA.
PERSONAL - Janet Nichole Fairchild was born Sept. 29, 1985 in Reston, Va...She is the daughter of Roy and Brenda Fairchild and has chosen Math as her major...She has three sisters, Megan, 19; Jennifer, 17 and Sarah, 11.
