Finished the year ranked 31st nationally in singles in the final ITA Rankings after becoming the third Captain in program history to qualify for the NCAA Championships ... Capped off the season with an 18-5 record in singles, including an incredible 15-3 mark in the No. 1 position ... Captured 14 consecutive victories from February 25 through May 1 ... Posted wins in three nationally-ranked battles during that span with triumphs against No. 16 Mary Washington on March 25, No. 20 Johns Hopkins on April 21, and No. 34 Redlands on March 9 ... 2016-17 - Freshman Season - Pieced together one of the most decorated debut campaigns in Christopher Newport history … Became the second Captain to earn the ITA Atlantic-South Region Rookie of the Year award … Also was celebrated as the CAC and VaSID Rookie of the Year … Picked up first-team All-Conference and All-State accolades for her work in singles … Also was a second-team All-CAC selection in doubles … Kicked off her career with a tremendous effort at the ITA Southeast Regional Championships, becoming the program’s first player to advance to the semifinals … Ranked 36th in the ITA National Singles Rankings following that performance, which marked the highest ranking ever registered by a Captain … Finished the year with a 21-6 mark in singles play, which established a new freshman record for victories in a season and equaled the third-highest single-season total ever recorded by a Captain … Posted a pristine 6-0 ledger in league action and an identical 6-0 mark at the No. 1 position … Also went 10-3 during her time at No. 2 singles … Picked up wins against three regionally-ranked opponents … Won 14 straight matches from March 5 - April 19, including triumphs against nationally-ranked Mary Washington, Johns Hopkins, and Redlands … Also compiled a 17-9 record in doubles play … Went 5-1 in doubles during league tilts and was 4-1 at the No. 1 spot … Posted a victory at No. 2 doubles in the CAC Championship against No. 15 Mary Washington to cap off the year.
