Box Score NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- The final day of the CNU Duals was completed on Sunday at the James T. and Sarah C. Eyre Courts on the campus of Christopher Newport University. CNU welcomed multiple teams from the Commonwealth to compete over three days and closed out the effort with matchups against Longwood and Batten. 

In the final batch of doubles matches, the Captains picked up another win over a Division I tandem when Matt Miller and Andrew Kinnear took down Mark Mrdak and John Felts in a 7-5 final. Miller added a singles win over a Division I opponent when he disposed of Ricards Spaks in a marathon match against the Longwood foe. He finished off a 7-6 (7-5), 2-6, 1-0 (14-12) win and wrapped up the weekend with a pair of singles wins. 

CNU also got four singles wins against Batten University as Jackson Grathwohl, Preston Green, John Lee, and Matt Onoff each picked up wins for the Captains. 

Christopher Newport will return to action at the CNU Invitational on September 26-27.
